Toastmasters #1

I have discovered Toastmasters as an enjoyable way to hone my public speaking skills.  These people  really encourage!  In the year since I joined the Eagle Toastmasters Club, I have given eight speeches.  Three of those speeches were impromptu, you know, as in not knowing I was going to speak, let alone what I was going to speak about until 5-10 minutes before I faced 10 or 15 smiling people.  Knowing the kind of people they are, I am sure that the smile was, in part, an expression of support for me. But they didn’t fool me.  I know that the other part of why they smiled was because they were glad it wasn’t them up there!
